AI processing, explained clearly.
BotNira uses artificial intelligence to understand conversations, process speech and generate intelligent responses for businesses.
This page explains how AI processing works, what information may be sent to AI services, how OpenAI is involved, and how BotNira protects customer information.
BotNira uses OpenAI API/business services for applicable AI processing.
AI is the intelligence layer of BotNira.
BotNira combines its own communication, automation and business workflow technology with AI services to provide an AI receptionist experience.
AI can be used to understand customer requests, interpret speech or text, generate responses, identify intent and support actions configured by the business.
BotNira remains responsible for the platform experience, business workflows, integrations, regional storage and customer-facing service.
How BotNira AI works
AI processing is one part of a larger BotNira communication and automation architecture.
Customer Communication
A customer contacts a business through a supported communication channel such as a phone call, WhatsApp message, email or website chat.
BotNira Processing
BotNira receives and processes the communication according to the business configuration and enabled workflow.
OpenAI Processing
Relevant information may be sent to OpenAI through the OpenAI API for applicable AI processing.
BotNira Response
The resulting AI output is returned to BotNira, where it can be used within the configured conversation, workflow or integration.
The BotNira AI processing flow
OpenAI
BotNira uses OpenAI API/business services for applicable AI processing.
Depending on the feature being used, relevant information may be transmitted to OpenAI so that the AI service can perform the requested processing.
OpenAI states that business data submitted to its API Platform is not used to train its models by default unless the organization explicitly opts in to data sharing. :contentReference[oaicite:1]{index=1}
OpenAI also states that business data is encrypted at rest and in transit and that qualifying API customers can use additional data-retention controls. :contentReference[oaicite:2]{index=2}
Is BotNira customer data used to train OpenAI models?
OpenAI's current business/API policy provides an important protection for business customers.
Business/API data is not used for model training by default.
OpenAI states that inputs and outputs from its business offerings, including the API Platform, are not used to train its models by default. Organizations can explicitly opt in to certain data-sharing programs. :contentReference[oaicite:3]{index=3}
BotNira's AI architecture uses OpenAI business/API services rather than consumer ChatGPT accounts.
What information can be sent to AI processing?
The information sent to AI services depends on the communication and the business workflow being used.
Conversation Content
Text or transcribed speech may be processed so the AI can understand the customer's request.
Business Instructions
Business-specific instructions and configuration may be provided to the AI so it can respond according to the configured workflow.
Context
Relevant conversation context may be provided to help generate an appropriate response.
Customer Information
Customer information included within a conversation or workflow may be processed when required to perform the requested task.
Voice Information
For applicable voice functionality, speech information can be processed as part of the AI conversation.
Workflow Information
Information needed to perform a configured action, appointment, response or integration may be included in the AI context.
Not everything happens inside the AI model.
BotNira is more than an AI model. The platform manages communications, business workflows, integrations, storage and account functionality.
OpenAI is used for applicable AI processing. BotNira remains responsible for the surrounding platform and workflow that connects the AI capability to the business.
Regional storage does not mean regional AI processing.
This distinction is important for customers with strict data-residency requirements.
Regional BotNira Storage
Vendor data is stored and backed up in the applicable BotNira regional environment.
AI Processing
Applicable AI processing takes place through OpenAI API/business services and may occur outside the customer's storage region.
Transparency
BotNira does not represent regional storage as a guarantee that every third-party processing activity occurs inside that same region.
AI processing and data retention are separate.
BotNira's own customer-data retention policy applies to data stored within BotNira.
When a vendor closes its BotNira account, applicable BotNira data is retained for 45 days and then permanently deleted.
Third-party providers may have their own processing and retention rules. OpenAI's current business/API documentation states that, for applicable API services, inputs and outputs may be retained for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring, with additional retention controls available to qualifying customers/endpoints. :contentReference[oaicite:4]{index=4}
Security around the AI layer
AI processing is protected as part of the broader BotNira security architecture.
TLS / Encryption in Transit
Information transmitted between services is protected using encryption in transit.
Encryption at Rest
Applicable BotNira stored information is protected using encryption at rest.
Access Controls
BotNira restricts internal access to customer data and does not provide ordinary team members with access to customer data.
Two-Factor Authentication
2FA is part of the available security controls.
Vulnerability Scanning
Regular vulnerability scanning is performed as part of the security program.
Penetration Testing
BotNira has completed penetration testing.
AI should assist people, not create hidden risk.
BotNira is designed to use AI within business workflows configured by the customer.
AI-generated responses can contain errors, misunderstand customer intent or produce incomplete information. Businesses should configure appropriate instructions, escalation paths and human-review processes for workflows where mistakes could have significant impact.
BotNira does not represent AI-generated content as a substitute for professional legal, medical, financial or other regulated advice.
Businesses remain responsible for their AI use.
BotNira provides the technology, but businesses determine how they deploy it.
Configure Your AI
Businesses are responsible for providing accurate instructions, information and workflows.
Customer Notices
Businesses should provide any notices or disclosures required by applicable laws, including where appropriate that customers are interacting with an AI system.
Sensitive Information
